They are becoming adept at integrating these programs into traditional delivery models. Moreover, eLearning for government has moved beyond ‘early adopters’ as data is readily available to verify the efficacy of these delivery mechanisms, and more importantly, how they enable the transfer of learning into the workplace.

Recognizing this strong evidence base, government organizations are successfully employing eLearning strategies to meet organizational goals.

Our observations as to why eLearning is here to stay in the Public Sector:

Typically large, distributed workforce – business case for use of eLearning is strong
Achieving more with less is a common theme – strong responsibility to deliver value for money services to the taxpayer
Facing radical modernization and large scale change projects, for example, the implementation of new IT systems
Flexibility and accessibility of blended learning fits well with employees
Communicating policy effectively, standardizing best practice, and implementing regulatory standards
